Middy Nano-Core XK55-2 Pro

Have fished the xk55 -3 pole for 3 years.Normally 2-3 times a week.( retired) Only had one section break. The number 5 section when I tried to bully a carp and not play it. No breakages since so a lesson learnt. Great at 13 metres you can see the weight in the spec, but good at any length compared to other poles of a similar cost. Where I fish, there is the end of a ledge at 11meters, so even better regarding the weight of the pole.Have had carp to 17lbs. I can only sing its praises great for matches, if fished if properly it will not let you down.

There's many reasons why a sponsored angler might be using another manufacturers equipment, make no mistake this is a top end pole at a great price. The 65 is even better, but not as strong, hence the popularity.

Fantastic pole for the money, stiffer than some poles far more expensive, well balanced too. People who have had sections break, all I can say it must be user error, as it is well strong even for double figure carp I've had from time to time. I've had the Mk 3 for a year now, and had no issues whatsoever with it. Anyone looking for a new pole, I'd say to compare it with a Daiwa G90, which some people rave about, the Middy is way better.

Daiwa Spectron M2

As a general match pole or if just targeting silvers the M2 cant be beaten. I bought one and realised its a bit dodgy when the wind gets up so I bought another rough one pole only to 14m with lots of repairs for £250, this comes out when the wind is up.

I have 3 G8s great pole. I walked round the pools recently on a biggish open 90% was Diawa with 3 G8s on the trot this 2025 says how good this pole is. Surprised Diawa not brought out a GR8 it's that good👍🤣.

Daiwa Whisker 2012 Model

Ben Peers WAA Mar 7, 2025
Just bought one of these off a mate who'd treated himself to a new g90. For just £250 he gave me the 16m pole 2 Milo ECO kits and 2 DWAs plus a 'spare' 4/5/6 off an airity pro (mega bonus id later found out would save me) plus he wacked it in a MAP hardcase for me cos he's sound. I bought it mainly for snake lake fishing across or to features etc but now I cannot stop using it! It came with the original whisker 5/6/7 (green triangle) which is different at the 5 female end so the mini Phex 5/6 wouldn't fit. I found this out the hard way but then realized I had the newer mandrel airity sections. Tried them fitted like a glove on both 5/6!! As I understand it all newer within 10yrs or so daIwa poles are COMPLETELY spare available still and plenty of topkits everything interchanges. My current package: 16m Whisker 2012 3 Milo ECO match 2 puller kits 4 DWA power 2s (2 ghost/2carbon) 3 F1 short kits Super 4th Mini Phex 5/6 Mini Phex 7/8 Phex 5 Zoom Tele cup kit Spare 4 5 6 airity pro sections/ new mandrel Tournament Holdall For a total of: £1280. Best iv seen second hand it not half the package and 600. Christmas indeed this year. The pole itself absolutely beautiful ships so fast, it's beautiful to the touch the satin finish is heaven. The mini power phex sections make you feel far safer fishing short off the 5/6 for carp etc plus it's just so innovative of daIwa to think of this dolly for each plain carbon section. They make shipping even smoother as it seems to glide off the roller. The rigidity with the normal 4 and a power kit is poker at 14.5 it's only at 16m it becomes a little something in ya hand if you get me but I haven't tried the super 4 yet which I'm sure sorts that right out. In terms of weight (with original whisker 5/6 it's a one hand job till you get to 16m where you may balance over opposing knee. 13m and below it's hardly even noticeable. That's another reason the mini phex help it kinda adds some weight and allows the shorter lengths to feel more balanced if that makes sense ? So far it's just been used in winter league for silvers F1 and smaller carp. Cannot wait to put it through it's paces with coming season!!! Never go back from Daiwa......... QUESTION IM STUCK BETWEEN WHICH TOPKITS So I can't afford the professional daIwa kits..... The generic range seems to offset the balance. Then I can't decide between DWA and Milo Eco pullers which are lighter ? Iv read too much about the Milos smashing but then also just as much about the DWAs smashing so I'm somewhat confused but I will say the Milo kits don't even feel like they are on there....... My intuition tells me use the Milo kits for under 10iah laccies like a match kit ? Thanks in advance to an explanation to the topkits!

I've just purchased a ZR4 pole. On the5 6 and remains sections I says TDZR Pole. After reading some of the negative comments I'm worried about the no4 section. Did the pole break while fish on or did it break while shipping back..any suggestions on how to protect it from breaking
