Package This is the package supplied with the pole and typically includes extras such as cupping kits, spare sections, pole holdall, half extensions, etc.
Type The pole type will generally fit into one of the following categories; Competition, Power, All-Round or Margin. For more information see our Buying Guide.
Length This is the length of the basic assembled pole as stated by the manufacturer and usually does not include items such as half-extensions, or short sections, etc. The length of a pole would typically be reduced after modifications such as the fitting of an elastication system.
Weight This is the weight of the assembled pole, in grams, as stated by the manufacturer. Please note: Not all manufacturers supply the weight information.
Max. Elastic This will usually dictate the suitability of a pole for a particular application. Elastic rating is generally linked to the power, or strength, of a pole. For example, if a pole is rated up to a 20+ elastic it would typically be suitable for handling carp in most commercial fisheries. A pole rated up to a 12 elastic would be more suited to catching smaller fish, for example, on a canal.
Short No 4 This is the number of Short No 4 sections supplied with the pole package. A short no. 4 section is usually used to stiffen the performance of the pole, or for extra strength for netting bigger fish.
Cupping Kit This is the number of Cupping Kits supplied with the pole package. A cupping kit is a strong top kit with an adaptor to attach a plastic cup / pot. Usually used for feeding volumes of bait accurately.
RRP This is the manufacturers Recommended Retail Price (RRP) and is the retail price suggested by the manufacturer at the time the pole is launched on the market. The RRP is often different from the target price.
Target Price The Target Price, or street price, is the price you would have expected to pay at the time pole was launched. Over time the actual price of a pole may fluctuate as retailers introduce special offers and incentives.
