    much appreciated

it is heavy at the last section, but at midlength its fine, my first pole, had up to a lb 9 carp on it, for the money a great pole

  • Review by Ottery outlaw Jun 6, 2012

I have had this pole for about six months and have found it a little heavy at full length. Knock off the last two stages and it handles without any problems. The other week I was fishing a local commercial pool and my line got tangled around the pole and still managed to land a 7.5 lb carp on just the pole itself. A good piece of kit for a new pole fisher and a very good price. Really gave me the bug for pole fishing and I'm hoping to upgrade to a lighter and longer pole soon.

It is a very good starter pole but unfortunately it is heavy at 11m's. I used to own it but now looking to up-grade to a 13m pole. Look for a price of around £60-£70 and for canal fish have a elastic of 4-5 but for a commercial pond don't play with fire and have an elastic of 8-10. This pole is good to strike into fish but as it is heavy at full length (Butt-Section) use a light-elastic!!!!

Very heavy at full length. At 7-9 metres as a margin pole is pretty good and not to stressful on the back. If you are new to pole fishing this may well put you off. If you're not new to it let's be honest you wouldn't be buying this anyway. Personally I would not recomend this I would either go for a shorter lighter pole or save your pennies and just get a lighter one.

I recently went out and bought this pole and i had it fitted with size 2 elastic . it easily handled a 30+lb carp with no ptroblems -safex

  • Review by Lee Barnhurst Sep 6, 2010

I have one of these poles as i am new to pole fishing and wanted a cheap option. Fully extended it is quite difficult to control. This i assume is due to the weight. i would say up to 6 sections it is really good and i find it ok to use. I have caught carp on commercials to 10lb+ and the pole handles it fine. I would say it is a great starter pole but its a pole not for the weak!!
