Description:
The Xitan Z9 is our flagship pole for 2010 and is without doubt the best pole that we have ever produced. Very stiff, strong and light it is the perfect choice for the expert angler. Extreme rigidity and absence of “bounce” make the pole perfect for fishing shallow and with very short lines. This pole is supplied at 16 metres but during field testing was found to be easily fishable at 17.5 metres. The pole is manufactured using the highest quality carbon cloth available to us. By incorporating our Nano-Carbon technology we have been able to make the Z9 both very strong and very durable; “brittle” sections that break unexpectedly or on even slight impact are a problem of the past! The joint areas have a visible woven overwrap to minimise wear and add further strength. This also ensures that the joints do not “lock up” under load when trying to break down the pole under pressure from big fish. The butt sections are strengthened to prevent elbow and spray bar damage and are finished with a special

I sold my trilogy to buy this pole and i am glad i did the z9 is an awesome pole super stiff with very little tip bounce unlike the trilogy,if the z12 is better than this then i cant wait to try one.

  • Review by Steve O Sep 3, 2012

Bought my Z9 6 months ago now. I tried a lot of poles and came down to choice between the Z12, Airity or Z9. The Z12 was stiffest by far but I didn't like the long sections so went for the 9 and haven't regretted it. It's excellent and everything I want from a pole. No problems whatsoever with it. I ordered 2 power 4's and they came in a week and only cost £100 the pair. It's the first bit of Browning tackle I've ever bought and I can't fault it. 10 out or 10

Macca63 - Hi mate, im the rep for NW that you spoke with, all that i can say is that it was beyond our (Brownings) control for the reason the shop didnt get the pole in the timescale which they should have. Lets just say we have plenty in stock.

Hope the 774 is serving you well, they are a top pole and was looking at one before i joined Browning.

Was interested in purchasing a new pole last year and it was a toss up between the Browning Z9 and the Sensas 774 after owning 3 earlier Browning models decided upon the Z9. I spoke to the Browning rep for the NW who put me in touch with a major dealer who agreed to order one which would arrive no later than a week (so he was told by Browning themselves when placing the order)- 6 weeks later and still no pole so if thats what its like for the pole itself how long for the spares? In the end went out and bought a Sensas 774, ordered on the Monday arrived Thursday and £300 cheaper than the Browning, better kit package and 3 number 4 sections too best pole I've used by a country mile - all about customer service at the end of the day.

    Hi Barry,

Thanks for these useful informations, this week I'm going to order one of them.

  • Review by Barry Feb 26, 2012

Steady74 -- The most obvious difference between the Z9 & 12 was the stiffness. The Z12 was much stiffer, especially at 16 & 17.5m. The Z12 was dead straight at 16m. The 12 also had better features like the pole protection sections and pre bushed kits. Weights they are about the same. Browning really have made a good job of the 12 but the 9 is still a brilliant pole.
I've use my 9 quite a few times now and I love it. A friend bought Garbo GMax at the same time but now he has fished with my pole wishes he had gone for a Z9 or 12.

    Hi Barry,

Could you please tell me what was/were the difference between the Z9-Z12?

I'm hasitating what to buy. I'D like to go for these two poles, and your reply probably help me to choose one of them. Here in Hungary there is totally no chance to try both of them.

  • Review by Barry Jan 23, 2012

Am usually a Garbolino man but decided to go Browning and tried the Z9 and Z12 together. The Z12 is much better pole, is a lot stiffer at 14m and the features like the bushed top kits and short butt sections are brilliant. The 12 really is an exceptional pole BUT I was offered the Z9 for £500 cheaper so I bought the 9! I'll use the 500 to buy some of the Z12 topkits so will end up with a bigger package. I've only used it twice but am already impressed apart from the cupping kit that Z9 owners warned me about.

hi all have had my Z9 for a month now and can honestly say its the best pole i have used. It is lighter than the pro and airity and feels stiffer. Also the sections do not come apart like some other makes.I haven't had a Browning pole since the 90's but they seem to have launched themselves back into the top end of poles with a gem. ordered a short 4 and got it in 10 days so am pleased with the service so far.
